Reclaiming the Mind ?

Michael Patton has commented that he has not blocked me. I was unable to post comments last night and all of today. However, my comment from work was accepted. Since the vagaries of the internet are impossible to verify, I offer an apology and will remove this post tomorrow. I still am unable to post there. Oh well.

Suzanne,

I am too busy to read any of your posts in detail, so I can't give references, but what you are writing has, at least in general terms, been backed up by reputable scholars. If you email me at jredman at une dot edu dot au, I will send you a copy of my denomination's document on why we ordain women. I will also have a look on my bookshelves and see if I can give you the names of some reputable scholars who back up your arguments.

Hi Sue,

A few points:
1. A "bully pulpit" is not a pejorative term, it has nothing to do with being a bully, for example. The prez is said to have a bully pulpit to speak on issues that he does not have direct power over.

What Dan was requesting what this you not use his blog comments area to post arguments about authentein, instead, post a link to your own website, which you have done.

In other words, he saw it as a tangent to the thread and he is the blog owner.

So this may explain if it is true you cannot post there anymore. The rules of blogdom are that the owner is in control of his/her own blog.

2. I REALLY appreciate your insights about authentein and I really appreciate your insistence. I hope you find the right places to get a hearing. I think you should write a paper on it for CBE or similar.

Thanks very much, Don. I note that Dan opened by saying that he thinks that egalitarians twist the scriptures. So I think that it is out of line when they say they are not open to discussing evidence. No complementarian blog will discuss evidence. Why?

I have so little time for a real article. As well, Linda Belleville has already written it.

It feels to my like a hoax. The evidence simply does not exist for "to have authority." It just isn't there.

2Pe 3:15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
2Pe 3:16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

The Scriptural context of saying someone "twists Scripture" is that it is to their destruction, so I wish people would not use this for things that are not dealing with salvation.

Sue, I did not block you from Parchment and Pen. I am the only one who has access to this. I don't know what happened. I have not even read any threads you are involved in.
