Originally named in memory of Lady Powerscourt, one of the 'Chief Women among the Brethren,' this is simply a place for me to collect stray thoughts about the Bible, women, the Brethren, Bible translation, manuscripts, writing systems, movies, books....

Suzanne,
I couldn't find another way to ask you this question except in this comments section.
I've been looking at the word "episemos" as it is used in Rom. 16:7. I'm thinking that "well know" or "outstanding" or "of note" is much too tame a translation. Have you studied this? If so would you please share your insight with me?
Thanks,
Tom Christian

Outstanding or prominent seem to be the best to me. I am not if you think there is more to be added. I should blog on this topic again soon. Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks. Looking forward to that post.
