Originally named in memory of Lady Powerscourt, one of the 'Chief Women among the Brethren,' this is simply a place for me to collect stray thoughts about the Bible, women, the Brethren, Bible translation, manuscripts, writing systems, movies, books....

Okay, maybe that should have been the other way round, but you get the picture. Americans drool over British royalty, and egalitarian women are still women, in every way.
I realize that Grudem thinks that being egalitarian makes us unattractive but that is his loss. As that Dr. whatshername (Laura) says, "I am a babe."
Hmm. She's a real nut, so maybe I shouldn't quote her, but I have yet to find the stats which say that egalitarian women are unattractive to men.
Egal wen are unattractive to men who, for some reason or another, are threatened by women who are their equals...or betters.
I think that the concern of Grudem and his ilk is that if/when women wise up and realize that they do not need to be "on bottom" then their "men on top club" will be populated only by men.

I like men just fine, when they know their place. (grin)

Ok, Brant beat me to it. But he has it right. They are intimidated by smart, independent women. They need another human to be "over in authority" to feel important. It is that simple. Otherwise, they would promote all the "one anothers" and not focus on their own elevation.
Comp celebrities remind me of little school yard bullies who are trying so hard to be somebody.
