I don't agree with subordination in creation either.

I believe that there is meaning in the material God chose for the creation of Eve. He took a rib, or literally, a piece out of the man's side.

The ribcage protects vital organs of the body. It surrounds the lungs, the heart, the liver...

The original can also give us a clue as to the woman's original place: beside the man.

I believe this could mean that Adam was to greatly esteem and protect Eve; he was to keep her close to his heart. Eve, in turn, was to protect Adam and keep his heart safe.
The famous woman of Proverbs 31 keeps her husband's heart safe.

Does that make any sense?

I've added many comments to that thread, among them is my stand regarding female subordination as God's design. I don't think it ever was.
